Pairings
My need to engage in the unruly behavior of clay and paint blossomed after decades of working with flat computer generated work. The challenge and delight of clay is a new element to my work, My photographs are the first layer, the initial part of this mix of voices. Photography, sculpture and painting are like children, arguing and playing together. Each element informs the other, and the addition of the shelf is a stabilizing force that acts as the parent holding all the elements together.
This series pairs together digital and mixed media paintings with original clay sculpture and polymer-based paint.
